About Me

Who I Am

I hail from Hengshui, a quaint city nestled in the heart of Hebei Province, China. My academic journey began at the renowned Hengshui High School, known for its rigorous military-style management. In 2020, I pursued automation at the Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), where I immersed myself in the field of robotics through the HIT Robot Learning Lab under the mentorship of Dr. Xiong Hao. My research focused on the intersection of robotics and reinforcement learning. I also joined the WTR Robot Team, participating in the ROBOCON competition by developing high-performance mobile robots. In the first half of 2023, I also spent a memorable period at the Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School, working with Dr. Chongkun Xia to explore agile applications of cable-driven robotic arms in space environments.

In June 2023, I joined Robospectra (Strutt) as an early team member. Over the past two years, I have worked on embedded systems, sensor integration, UWB, SLAM, and factory calibration. As the sole member representing our autonomous driving division, I had the opportunity to showcase our work at CES in Las Vegas—a challenging yet fulfilling experience that marked a milestone in my professional journey. In 2024, I begin my Ph.D. studies at the University of Hong Kong under the guidance of Professor Zhang Fu, focusing on autonomous driving and SLAM.

My Ambition

My aspiration is to lead the development of practical robotics technologies that make a tangible impact across industries. I am particularly passionate about their application in medical treatment and rehabilitation—a direction inspired by my experience in the National Biology Olympiad during high school. At Strutt, my current focus lies in developing a SLAM framework that maintains high accuracy and low latency across all terrains and environments, while supporting plug-and-play integration with various additional sensors such as UWB, wheel odometry, and multi-lidar systems. This interdisciplinary background continues to drive my pursuit of innovative solutions with real-world value, especially in healthcare and mobility.

My Interest

I have a profound passion for gourmet cuisine, as I firmly believe that indulging in exquisite and delightful food is one of the fundamental pursuits of human existence. During my leisure time, I enjoy exploring various restaurants, seeking culinary pleasures, even though the subsequent struggle with weight management can be quite challenging. Apart from this, I harbor a great love for traditional Chinese arts, particularly xiangsheng (crosstalk). I find joy in listening to crosstalk, immersing myself in the pleasure it brings while appreciating the profound richness of Chinese culture. Of course, I also cherish all things joyful and humorous. In a world that can be overwhelmingly tense, a good laugh is a precious remedy, so let’s embrace laughter whenever we can.
